The whole man enjoys both the outer and the inner dimension of life. Is the outer important in your life? Yes, it definitely is. You need money, a home, cars, food etc. You need social success and achievements to realize your personal power and abilities. But is it enough to live a full realized life?



At the time of the growing speed of your life, are you able to listen to yourself? In this permanent run after the different objects of your desires, can you listen to the whisper of your intrinsic self? As for me, if the inner world, inner reality is not important, life becomes mechanical. The playfulness of life has been lost. The dance of life has been lost. When you spend all the energy only outwards, then no energy remains to go inside and find yourself.



You can stop this run for a moment. Step aside and watch your life… You just need a bit of watchfulness to realize what I am talking about. The art of watching does not depend on the object. Start from small things in your life. Can you listen to the song of a river? Can you listen to the melody of the wind passing through the trees? Are you too busy to enjoy the play of sea waves? The waves come in and out… The waves come in and out… Are you able to wonder at the silver circle of the Moon in the sky? Do you feel this miraculous interdependence of you and nature? Just one glimpse of this miraculous revelation is enough. In this affinity you never become the same. You obtain something new. You obtain something essential. You meet your authentic self.



And don't even try to logically understand this experience. Don't even try to reduce this experience to mundane words and explanations. The mind is simply not capable of realizing this mystery. Instead of thinking and intellectualizing, dive into this divine atmosphere of silence and, at the same time, of the fullness of life. The music of the language of silence flows exactly into your heart. Only your heart is capable of listening to this melody. This feeling can be expressed in dance. It can be expressed in love. It can be expressed in laughter.



You can dive on the wave of silence deeper and deeper into yourself. Become the silent watcher… Dive into this silence. Be total with this silence. And suddenly you become this silence itself. You become this peace itself. You become this relaxation itself.



And when you realize the inner, why even choose between the inner and the outer worlds? As far as I am concerned, only in the togetherness of the inner and the outer dimension, life blossoms with all the flowers. Why not enjoy both worlds and both dimensions together? Energy has to move, and this flow requires two different poles. The whole man is neither only the center nor the periphery, neither only the inner not the outer. The whole man is both worlds simultaneously. The whole man is both dimensions together. In the dance of both dimensions life becomes realized, enriched and fulfilled. Be the whole man as you are intended to be! Enjoy the abundance of both worlds!

Vijay Eswaran Highlights Green Business Initiatives at UN Environs Meet

The lack of safe drinking water poses more of a serious challenge in the 21st century than the shortage of oil. Dato Vijay Eswaran, Executive Chairman of the QI Group of Companies who said this, was speaking at the first preparatory meeting of the World Congress on Justice, Governance and Law for Environmental Sustainability which convened here last week.

As the only member of the private sector invited to speak at the meeting which was a gathering of high profile government officials from around the world, he drew attention to the massive floods rampaging Thailand and other countries in the region and urged legislators to engage the private sector in building life-saving products of the future.

"Even during floods, the most significant challenge is to provide safe drinking water because at such times, this commodity is hard to come by. Packaged and bottled water also poses the biggest problem in terms of environmental hazard.



"The business of sustainability is the business of the future," said Vijay who drew applause for his company's innovative, water dispensing machine which extracts the humidity in the atmosphere and turns it into safe drinking water.

Vijay pointed out that QI Tower, his company's 15-storey state-of-the-art operational headquarters in Petaling Jaya uses the system to supply drinking water for its 300 employees who work in the building.



"We are now testing this product in Abu Dhabi, Sudan and Saudi Arabia," noted Vijay.

He said the QI Group has been embracing green technology from day one at all its approximately 20 locations worldwide and over 1,000 employees have all been educated on protecting the environment.



"Our green products emphasise recycling, saving energy, going paperless as well as adhering to other strict environmental-friendly policies. Our boutique Prana Resort in Koh Samui, Thailand is fully solar powered and has an ecological waste treatment plant. It is also a smoke-free resort with a productive hydroponic garden that supplies the resort's acclaimed vegetarian restaurant.

On the Group's other Malaysian operations, Vijay said once the permanent campus of its University venture in Ipoh, Perak - Quest International University Perak is built, it will be an entirely carbon neutral campus where students can only use bicycles or solar powered buggies for internal commute. All other vehicles would be prohibited to ensure the university has minimal carbon emissions.



The Group, which is developing an eco-tourism resort in Rompin, Pahang, has also left its entire ecology untouched in order to preserve the mangrove swamps and its surrounding rainforest.

"Business is not just about the highest profit margin anymore, it is about what we can give back." he added.

On the objective of the conference, Vijay said, "We are here to set laws for the great majority of the planet that is in touch with the soil. What we need to do is engage with them. Technology is the way forward and any legislation must be inclusive of technology."



Dato Vijay's message to the conference was very much in line with the call by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak who suggested the creation of a World Environment Organisation(WEO) to anchor global efforts to protect the environment. Datuk Seri Najib said existing systems to address the challenges of environmental sustainability had become too complicated, preventing countries, especially developing ones, from participating effectively.



The Prime Minister noted that a body like the WEO could facilitate the participation of developing countries in a more realistic and meaningful way.

The two-day meeting, organized by the United Nations Environment Programme, was attended by 34 judges and legal experts from 19 countries to discuss and exchange ideas on the world's law, justice and governance systems, and environmental sustainability.

It ended with the Kuala Lumpur Declaration which would be presented at the Rio+20 Conference in Rio de Janeiro in June 2012.

Something within you triggers that last weapon at hands of the male community around this world; when you don't want to respond, they (males in general) then exhibit their annoyance which has no ground beneath its arousal but in any way most of the times this exhibition of unnecessary and unreasonable annoyance affords them an opportunity to sneak in some by lanes as an escape route that moment.



You exhibit your annoyance by saying: "Now is this the time for me to spend another one hour detailing you minute to minute of my moves during this day; how many times I went to the wash room? How many times I washed my hands? If you are so inclined for all such investigating details then you should have better refrained from leaving home. I don't intend to spoil your mood but this is not the time for such detailing…" While sharing these words somewhere within you your own tender heart is getting hurt since you shall never ever like your wife sitting so far to get suppressed on account of such unreasonable behavior this moment… but man this was the only option before any ordinary male to save situation from worsening.

The beauty of this world stands that 70 % or more of the married men around this world, irrespective of region, religion and ethnicity never think to pain their wives on account of their conduct… and this fact actually travels with another fact that the wives in fact get pained at most times merely on account of communication problems… according to me ‘their (wives) highest concerns leave them with more pain for reason that run beyond control by most of the men'. This Dichotomy runs with an excellent truth; both i.e. men & women… they actually mean something else, they in fact say something else and the outcome of their communication turns out as something else… A strange phenomenon that needs a great orientation at both the ends but there are no classrooms for it… instead the immediate resolve to most are the courts… that are not the appropriate ground for learning more about each other… Isn't it a fact amidst husband and wife that both forces of attraction and repel work simultaneously to extents that these forces draw good intelligent and wise men and women towards a most irrational and inconsiderate conduct that leads towards conflict in place of harmonious co-existence.

Your wife on gathering your annoyance than with a fading voice coveys you good night and disconnects the cell phone. O man-man for you the moment now stands sorted… but there you are deeply immersed into the manner the call has been disconnected… you don't feel comforted within and immediately pick up the phone devoid of any consideration and call her. Your words "Honey I am so sorry… please… just that I did not feel like getting into detailing of nity-gritty that I … ". She immediately picks up the thread from your inconclusive talk and conveys you her happiness… that indeed she is… since she is more comforted to have your call… then she informs you about the concerns she developed on listening to your voice borne with some depth and pain… the call prolongs wherein she is now sharing her moments of that day and then the call concludes with all happiness. The children by that time had slept otherwise they too shall have intervened to convey their part…

You come down to the bed and do not want to switch off the light on one basic account that darkness today shall not leave you with any easiness therefore with lights on you try your best to sleep… More than one thousand different kinds of thoughts keep flashing within your brain… factual, imaginative etc. it becomes very late and then the force sitting atop your eyes grows so heavy that it forces its spell over your brain and you fall asleep…

Continued… The milkman holding three bottles of milk… it takes you a while to draw requisite consciousness to manage those bottles in your limited hands & the moment you engage both hands to manage three bottles; the milkman also draws an envelope held beneath his left shoulder and tries to hand it over to you. It becomes all the more difficult on account that three bottles already have taken all in you and now where should this envelope get accommodated… before you can arrive any conclusion the milkman rises another step to come up at your level at the threshold and inserts the envelope beneath your left shoulder… you facilitate his attempt by slightly lifting the left armpit and then immediately closing it down in order to grip the envelope. But before you turn back towards milkman a question is thrown over him; "Oh this must be the milk bill"; but the reply comes in negative. He informs you that the moment he landed at the door he saw this envelope lying on the ground and considering that it may not become tramped by some ones feet or fall prey to some fast blowing wind, he thought it appropriate to hand it over to you. You thank him for his wise act and close the door with your leg and come in to place ingredients at their appropriate confinement.

After confining the milk you come down towards the envelope although there is a considerate factor on your mind that what shall now have to be done with three litres of milk; the family is away; did she (your wife) not inform this fellow (milkman) to cut the quantity for few days to come… the thought of the milk clouds your mind but immediately it is defogged by the curiosity about the envelope. On your initial examination the envelope bears no name of the recipient, nor there is any mention of the sender and over and above it is not sealed… it is wide open for anyone to read its contents… a question hovers in your mind… who is this and for whom is this meant for?

Amidst confusion and curiosity you take out the single paper within it and find merely five lines written over a plain piece of that paper... and as they read:

'I know that your mind shall not get rid of me; and I am also aware that it is not that easy for you share my details with anyone else. Whenever you consider it appropriate Just recall & observe my face and I shall appear before thee'… In service to my lord; an envoy of opportunity'.

For you It went beyond any doubt that who was the author of this letter… but the question was about the time it would have been written or dropped since he (the stranger) did not appear to be carrying any plain envelope or paper etc. You immediately tell yourself that it is enough of that stranger and no more scrutiny about who, where and what all's about him… One must put an end to matters that do not mean much to ones life… and you deliberately engage yourself into activities that enable one get ready for an outside move.

It takes not more than forty minutes for you to get ready and step out of the home… with main door keys inserted into the pockets there you are on the road with a plan that leads you no where… but still you force yourself to go on and put all halt over your thinking brain and rush towards the nearest bus stop. There comes a bus and without much consideration you are now boarded into it and seek tickets for a point that is beside a large shopping mall. While within the bus you just go on thinking… rather saying it within your own self… " if anyone shall go by looks, my clothes; I appear to be well settled and it shall be appearing to all onlookers that I am moving for some serious business… but the fact is known to me alone. With kids now the minimum expectations out of life have risen to levels where economy and esteem both travel hand in hand… and there am I; somehow able to conceal at the ends of esteem and always breaking to stretch to meet economic ends." This is not the first time that you are within yourself examining a critical appraisal of your factual state but the malady is that you don't find any better thought to end with… henceforth it all starts with it and ends up at the same level…

Let me tell you my friend that you are not the only one in this world undergoing and recalling such lines… maybe we can find many who could experience such state and express it thousand times better than you have done it in the crudest manner…

By the time you were within your-self termination the destination without any purpose had arrived. You get down from the bus and with a nowhere mind the good looking serious individual continues his move towards the shopping mall as if visiting for a serious business and an ascertained appointment.

With most men around this world the nature has bestowed a hidden potential within most… they can conceal the agony at heart and create a confident pretentious being; the one who shall have no exhibition of any dearth… they are very few who come on the road as naked (expose their broken state within)… tall or short, fat or slim, black or white… men are men… caring, responsible, loving, affectionate, trustworthy at all extents despite of some animalistic instinctive streaks within… men are men all over where ever they are… and proudly speaking today the majority of them do not see any pride in denigrating the other gender that is so loving and dear to their hearts… conflicts shall stay in this world for ever but it is for sure that in coming times the conflicts shall exist amidst people of both genders who are far better to those existed earlier… the human race is grossly improving… these lines make sense to only those who want the good to be all around and not to others…
